It's been a few weeks since I wrote.
When I last wrote, I wasn't allowed to share the big secret that my mom got an award called Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Award. It is given by the company based out of St.Louis for the coal based areas. My mom was awarded one of these awards . I am so proud of my mom! She only got to take 4 people with her for the dinner in Richfield. I was able to get off work and attend along with my dad, my sister Nancy and my Aunt Julie.
Last week was the week of Easter. My parents came up here and spent a few days at the famous hotel that they always stay at. It keeps the grandkids busy and gets them VERY tired! They were already with the grandkids when I got off work on Thursday. (I had to work a little later on Thursday, with the awful weather back East FedEx brought our shipment late). Friday I met up with Tammy and Josh and the kids and we met the others downtown at the Easter Egg Hunt for The National Kidney Foundation. It was really nice, they had pizza and cookies and of course WATER there for everyone. The Easter Bunny was there to get pictures with everyone. Then the Easter Egg Hunt started. Tammy and Kayden were even interviewed by FOX13 and got on the news that night. After the hunt, I went with my parents and Nancy and Tyler and did some shopping with the parents and then later met up with the Gales and more SWIMMING! Saturday we all met at Nancy's and ate turkey and the kids colored eggs. Lexi is getting so big (her birthday was last week, she is now 11) she was helping hide the eggs for the boys for a little easter egg hunt. Tyler did so good, we had a little section just for his hunt. He only had a little problem trying to distinguish between the dandelions and YELLOW eggs. Overall it was a great weekend. Sunday, I just rested and cleaned.
Mike hasn't been all that great, he had a HUGE boil last week. NO I didn't give it to him. I took him to the Instacare last Monday and they had to lance it. The doctor wasn't a good doctor. She didn't make sure he was numb before she lanced it. He was having really bad fevers!!The antibiotics have been working GREAT but there is still a little bit of an infection pocket left (the boil is on his stomach) so he will be going back to the doctor. I almost called my Doctor Brother to help me find out what I needed to do.
I will be doing the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure on May 7. If you want to donate, LET ME KNOW! I am so excited. I have been working out for about 2 months and started to lose weight and really started to feel GREAT! We have the weight trainer at work and been doing that on my lunch break at work, and WOWIE, she sure does make you work out.
Hope everyone has had a great month and a great easter!

WOWZERS!
What a week! Last Saturday I went to the local Instacare thinking I had an ear infection, the dr said I had a viral infection. It was still hurting pretty bad on Tuesday. So I thought I would go to the clinic by my work. I also needed to go to the Dr because I had another outbreak of a boil. This one is on my neck (3rd one since November, all in different places)
The Dr was GREAT! Sure enough, no ear infection just my TMJ that will get all worked up about twice a year. Well, this was one of the times. The Dr then took a look at the boil. She took me into the "surgical" room at the clinic and tried to lance it. No luck. She bandaged it up, put me on antibiotics and told me to come back on Thursday for a wound check. I kept the bandage on and kept a hot compress on it. Thursday went back and the Dr was able to lance it and get some infection out. We bandaged it (after she packed it) back up and off I went knowing I had to come BACK today (Saturday) for another wound check. After a while, I just felt like my neck was on FIRE. It was burning!!! But I just thought the numbing stuff was just coming out or it was just sensitive from the lancing. I rebandaged it yesterday and it was just RED! I didn't put a new bandage on quite as tight. Went back to the Dr today, well, found out the burning and redness was the allergic reaction to the bandage. SO, now I have to make sure to tell medical people I'm allergic to bandaids and to use paper tape at all time.
Today was also Daphne's Make-a-Wish Party. Daphne was diagnosed with leukemia last year. She has undergone her chemo. She will be going to the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park, and Sea World! I took my sister Tammy's kids to the party. As soon as we pulled up to the Make-a-Wish building Kayden said that he remembered making a wish there. The lady that was there helping Daphne with her party was the same lady who did Kayden's. We got to go on the tour of the building, and we all got to make a wish of our own for Daphne. There were birds there for Daphne's party, face painting and an balloon animal lady. It was a lot of fun! Thanks for letting us come!

It's just been an eventful few days. I have just realized I got the genes from my grandparents that aren't all that fun. Grandma Labrum would get boils (dad gets them too). Grandpa Labrum was allergic to bandages too.
